Abstract
619,710. Lamp supports. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd. Dec. 19, 1946, No. 37440. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1945. [Class 75 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXV] In a lighting fitting particularly for a circular fluorescent discharge lamp, the ballast is constructed so that it may be housed in a wall or ceiling fitting or in the base of a floor or table lamp. The ballast casing 1 is constructed with an axial aperture so that it may be fitted over a threaded pipe 23 or 30, Fig. 5 or 7, and attached thereto by means of locking nuts 27 or 34 respectively. As shown in Fig. 7, a plate 33 may be fitted over the pipe 30 before the ballast casing is fitted to which plate can then be attached the remainder of the wall or ceiling fitting.
