Abstract
618,356. Stencilling-apparatus. KAPLOWITCH, A. L. Oct. 25, 1946, No. 31693. [Class 100(ii)] In stencilling-apparatus of the kind comprising a squeegee-carriage 20 manually reciprocated over a screen 13 and carrying a pair of squeegees 24 in inverted V or like formation, the trailing squeegee being always pressed on the screen and the leading one lifted clear, manually releasable means is provided for locking the squeegee in such a position that it bears with the required pressure on the screen. The apparatus described is similar to that of Specification 593,582 with the addition of a locking plate 40 for each handle 35, a pin 42 carried by a pivoted arm 43 connected to a plunger 44 slidable within the handle 35 being releasable by pressing on the plunger, whereupon the handle is turned to the required position to set the squeegee and the plunger is raised to raise the pin 42 into a hole in the plate 40. A stud may be placed in a hole in the plate to enable the handle to be moved to the same place in successive strokes in that direction. Guide rods 16 for the carriage may be round or oval, or, according to the Provisional Specification, octagonal. Specification 567,896 also is referred to.
