[Classes 39 (iii) and 126] [Also in Group XIII] In a heating unit comprising a casing 1 containing a source of heat e.g. an electric element 4 or a flue for combustion gases [see Group XIII], the heat source is held or formed centrally between two metal sheets 5 of high heat conductivity from which heat is conducted and radiated to the corrugated sides of the unit from which sides the sheets 5 are separated by air spaces closed at top and bottom by a cowl and base (not shown). Nuts and screws 7 secure the element 4 between the sheets 5 together with external heat insulating plates 8. The structure is mounted on a lower casing carrying an indicator light 20 which glows when the element 4 is operative. An external heating element 16, protected by a guard 17, is mounted in a recess at the front of the unit.
