617,997. Agricultural implements. WILLYS-OVERLAND MOTORS, Inc. Sept. 6,1946, No. 26880. Convention date, Oct. 10, 1945. [Class 6 (i)] [Also in Group XXX] A soil-cultivating attachment for a vehicle comprises a pair of struts 33, 34 which are pivoted to a transverse bar 41 secured to the vehicle chassis, and which extend along each side of the chassis, the cultivating tools 20 being carried by the struts which are raisable hydraulically. The vehicle is provided with four power-driven wheels. The struts carry at their forward ends a tool-bar 26 and a crossbar 48 on which is mounted a pair of height-adjusting wheels 56. The toolbar carries the cultivating tools 20 spaced along its length, the tools being individually adjustable in brackets 27. The framework, comprising the struts, the tool-bar 26 and the cross-bar 48 can be raised about tho pivots 45 by a hydraulic jack mounted on the vehicle frame. The jack comprises a cylinder 74 the piston of which is connected by cables 72, passing over pulleys 71, to the struts 33, 34 at points 80 near their front ends. Oil can be pumped into the cylinder 74 from a reservoir 83 by a pump 90 driven by a power take-off shaft. The wheels 56, adjustable in brackets 51, limit the penetraton of the tools into the ground.
