Abstract

Acrylic resins such as polymethyl methacrylate are given a frosted surface by treating the clean surface with a mixture of carbon tetrachloride and alcohol in the cold and then subjecting the surface to a blast of dry air to remove the solvent. The frosted surface may then have a pigment, e.g. white paint, applied and protected with a varnish and drier.
