[Class 119] Relates to gunnery training apparatus in which the target is provided by cinematograph projection of a film of a moving object, the projector being constrained to follow the movements of a camera which maintains the object in substantially the same point in its field of view, and consists in providing means for indicating on the screen at any moment the correct point of aim bv means of a beam from an auxiliary projector which is controlled by means responsive to the target position and range records in the form of cams driven from, or in unison with, the cinematograph. In the form shown, cam followers 13 for elevation and bearing cams 10 and 11 control the cinematograph projector through arms 29 on axis 30, and cam followers 12 control the auxiliary projector through arms 16 and cross-shaft 26. The follower 18 for range cam 14 is mounted on controlling arm 19 on pivot pin 20 attached to fixed part 28 so that the pin is offset from the axis of shaft 27 carrying the elevation, bearing and range cams, and this follower also controls the followers 12 for the auxiliary projector, by engagement in the slot 17 of adjusting lever arm 15 mounted to swing about shaft 27. The projectors may both be fixed and their optical axes deflected by mirrors 23 and 24 controlled by the cam followers through wires 21 and 22. A lightsensitive device according to Specification 617,326 may be used in co-operation with the light from the correct points of aim so that an indication is given when the sighting device is aligned correctly.
