Abstract
617.310. Horticultural cloches. GOLDFINCH, A. C. Sept. 26, 1946, No. 28796. [Class 20(i)] For application to a horticultural cloche of the gable-shaped type in which a supporting frame has inclined members which support the roof glasses, a roof glass spacing device, preferably made of wire. is adapted to be detachably secured to the supporting frame when it is desired to hold the roof glasses in the " open position. The attachment comprises a spacer A<1> with an intermediate aperture or projection A<2> for engagement with the apex of the supporting frame and two legs C on opposite sides of A<2> which bear down on or engage the inclined members F<4> of the frame. The roof glasses G are supported, when in the open position, on inclined rests B and are retained by wires E which, when the attachment is not in use, extend between an eye F<1> at the apex of the supporting frame and hooks F<3> at the lower ends of the members F<4>, but which hook into eyes B<1> at the upper ends of the rests B when the glasses are spaced apart. The supporting frame may have a brace F<2>, and the legs C may extend downwards in the form of a V to a hook D<2> which engages the brace, or they may hook on to the brace separately.
