616,543. Check valves. AKTIEBOLAGET GOTAVERKEN. Jan. 28, 1946, No. 2773. Convention date, Feb. 16, 1945. [Class 135] A spring plate valve comprises a seat plate 1, Figs. 1, 3, and a plate 4 spaced apart by distance-pieces 3, and a steel &c. valve member having an arm 6 coacting with the seat plate to control an opening 2 therein and an arm 7 fixed or clamped to the plate 4 at a point beyond the end of the valve opening 2. The plate 1 has a plurality of openings 2 with which co-operate a corresponding number of valve members, and the plate 4 has openings spaced laterally from the openings 2. When the valve members are fully open, both arms 6 and 7 lie parallel to the plate 4 and a groove 9 in this plate accommodates an eye 8 at the bend of the valve member. The ends of the arms 7 of the valve members are clamped in slots in the distance-piece 3 and are located by pins passing through holes in the arms 7 and in the plate 4. The valve members may be as shown in Fig. 5, being clamped at the middle portion 12, in which case each of the openings 2 is divided into two parts. Valve members of the form shown in Fig. 1 may be arranged alternately on opposite sides of a central distancepiece 14 by which they are clamped.
