615,412. Metering tubes. FISCHER, K. Jan. 9, 1945, No. 728. Convention date, May 15, 1944. [Class 69 (i)] [Also in Group XXIII] A metering tube 10 of a fluidflow meter has a tapering bore with a plurality of inwardly protruding axially extending float guiding beads 16, which are spaced uniformly around the bore and provide line contact with a float 11. The tube is formed by collapsing an oversize cylindrical glass tube upon a grooved mandrel, the tube being first evacuated and then heated until the softening point of the glass is reached. Specifications 576,776, 579,779, 579,796 and 615,413 are referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 also describes the use of a double-headed float in the tube. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
