[Class 35] A slot-wedge 5 comprises a strip of channel or arched section with outwardly flanged edges 6 adapted to slide into grooves 3 in the slot walls. The strips are pressed from sheet magnetic or non-magnetic metal or fibre and may be tapered along their length. Alternatively, the wedges may be of non - magnetic material coated with magnetic material as by spraying or electro-plating or the side portions only may be encased in magnetic edging strips.
