611,670. Drinking appliances for animals. SALOPIAN ENGINEERS, Ltd., and BURN, R. M. G. May 4, 1946, No. 13566. [Class 5 (ii)] In a cattle-watering bowl having a horizontal valve C operated by a nose-piece depressible by the animal, the inlet spout b enters the bowl G near the rear thereof and extends downwardly to a point near the bottom of the bowl. Integral with the bracket A is a valve housing B internally threaded to receive a detachable valve C comprising a body within which a spring- pressed plunger d is slidably mounted. Water enters the housing B through a branch socket b<SP>1</SP>, passes through a hollow plug c and enters the bowl G through the downwardly-depending spout b. The valve is opened by the animal through nazal pressure on a lever (not shown) pivoted to lugs c<SP>6</SP> on the top of the housing. The bowl G is detachably held between the spout b and a screw clamp J pivoted to the bracket A.
