[Class 97 (i)] [Also in Group XXXVIII] In a film-recording and reproducing apparatus, the part of the width of the film containing the recorded matter, such as a sound track, is maintained in a fixed plane, relative the gate, by passing it between two frames, one of which is resiliently mounted and the other fixed. In an alternative construction, Figs. 3 and 4 (not shown), the film passes over a curved guidemember which has a raised surface at the part of the width of the film containing the recorded matter, and has a window at a point in its length where the gate is located.
