607,410. Hearth curbs. SMITH, Ltd., H., and SMITH, H. G. Feb. 2, 1946, No. 3350. [Class 126] A hearth curb has the main frame 1 formed from sheet metal strip L-shaped in cross-section, the structure being stiffened by a metal strip 4 connecting the two webs and forming a strut. The edges of the L- shaped strip are bent inwardly further to stiffen the structure and the inclined strut has its edges 5 and 6 bent to bear against the vertical and horizontal faces of the L- shaped strip to which they are welded. A covering 8 of sheet metal is fixed over the frame, to which it is secured.
