606,699. Reamers; boring-bars. WELSBY, S., and WELSBY, J. S. Dec. 19, 1945, No. 34367. [Class 83 (iii)] The head of a reamer or boring-bar is made in two parts a<SP>2</SP>, a<SP>3</SP>, separated by a plane parallel to the axis of the tool, the larger part a<SP>2</SP> having a transverse channel c for a pair of floating cutters d which are adjusted by right-and-left handed screws e<SP>1</SP> operated by a worm n<SP>1</SP> and pinion e. The tools are under the influence of springs h anchored to pins j in the head. The worm is provided with scale markings and the parts of the head are secured by screws b. The cutters have two or more cutting edges, which may be inclined.
