605,397. Building slabs. CONSTANCE, Ltd., C., and ELVIDGE, S. R. C. Dec. 21, 1945, No. 34692. [Class 87 (i)] In the manufacture of a reinforced plaster slab, an open framework 3, 4 covered on one face with expanded metal, wire netting &c. 2 is embedded in plaster in an open mould, the plaster being swept up at the edges 1b to cover the framework. The edges lb may be reinforced with scrim and may be rabbeted at 6. The framework 3, 4 may be of metal, wood, papier mache or synthetic resin and of various sections. The recess 5 may be filled with heat &c. insulating material and covered by paper 5a. In a modification, a framework 13 covered on both faces with expanded metal &c. 12 is, after being embedded in the one layer of plaster, inverted and embedded in a second layer to form a hollow slab which may be filled with heat &c. insulating material. Slabs may be secured on a supporting framework by screws &c. passed through openings 20.
