605,190. Hollow panel-like structures. HILLS & SONS, Ltd., F., and CHOWN, W. R. Oct. 12, 1944, No. 19658. [Class 145 (ii)] In the manufacture of hollow wooden panel-like structures for use in furniture, flush panel doors, &c., consisting of front and rear skins attached to ribs or separators e held together between outer ribs c by pieces d, a removable comblike filling piece is inserted between the ribs e to support the skins while being attached to the ribs and prevent undulations forming. When the comb is removed, the spaces between the ribs e at each end may be closed by pieces similar to the pieces d or by continuous rails provided with such pieces. The front and rear skins and the ribs e may be made from plywood and the other parts may be made from compressed wood.
