604,882. Piston packing. RODOLIAKIS, J., and RODOLIAKIS, J. Dec. 7, 1945, No. 33170. Convention date, Feb. 9, 1944. [Class 122 (i)] In a piston packing constituted by segmental elements 1, 2, having each at their ends recesses and protrusions adapted to match with corresponding protrusions and recesses formed at the ends of co-operating segmental elements, both co-operating segmental elements are pressed against the cylinder surface by means of springs interposed within these elements and adapted to act on flat portions 11, 12, 13, 14 thereof, said segmental elements having hollow portions such as 26, 27, 28, 29, or 34 adapted to permit lubricating oil to interpose itself between said elements and the cylinder surface for lubricating the latter.
