Abstract
604,141. Fish filleting machines. ATLANTIC COAST FISHERIES CO. March 22, 1945, No. 7295. Convention date, June 14, 1944. [Class 28(ii)] In filleting fish by a machine such as described in Specifications 452,688, 589,509, 604,140, and U.S.A. Specification 2,179,821 a fixed stripper 82 is positioned near the discharge end of the conveyer and partly between the ribbing knives to engage and urge downwardly the skeleton of a fish as it becomes detached from the flesh. The stripper is shaped with a separating nose and a rail part 86, which enters between the pairs of fingers 44 to hold them apart, the rail extending around to near the top of the sprocket. Other fixed lead-in guides (110, Fig. 3 not shown, and supplemental guides 120, Fig. 9 not shown) are provided to prevent the fingers 44 from spreading apart. A rib 84 on the stripper 82 engages the skeleton to deflect it down. The fingers 44 are cleared of any adhering flesh. &c., by passing between toothed discs 140 rotated against the movement to scrape over the fingers. These discs 140 are themselves cleaned by a fixed comb, Fig. 13, shaped to scrape them.
