603,041. Splints. CULLINAN, J. M., and McLAREN, G. Nov. 16, 1945, No. 30856. [Class 81(ii)] A splint comprises a length of fabric 1 stiffened by spaced struts 2 (disposed for example in pockets between two canvas layers), a number of padded overlap portions 3-6 disposed linearly along the splint and hinged to the fabric, and means 7 for securing the splint in position. Fig. 1 shows forearm splint, portion 6 being cut at 6a to accommodate the thumb, and portion 3 terminating short of the strut portion to allow for the bend of the elbow. In a leg or upper arm splint, the lower end of the lowermost overlap portion is cut away to receive the foot or forearm.
