[Class 117] A brush cleaner for sieves used for sifting flour or other materials comprises bristles k extending from opposite sides of a bar l connected to a carrier a, the carrier consisting of two spaced side plates which are slotted to carry the spindle f of a roller e. The roller rests on a guide rail h formed with ramps i, j. The brush is traversed step-by-step by the engagement of one set of bristles with the reciprocating sieve. As the roller e engages a ramp the bristles are disengaged from the sieve and the tilting of the carrier together with the lost motion between the carrier and the roller e ensure the engagement of the opposite set of bristles with the sieve.
