[Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A light projector, for medical purposes or for lighting paintings and the like, comprises a spherical body 1, Fig. 4, having two openings at the end of a horizontal diameter to receive a gapped tube 7 serving as mounts for a reflector 13, lenses 27, 27<1>, 33, 33<1> and colour filter 32, this tube being machined to leave room for the electric lamp and the spherical body having a vertical sleeve 4 for introducing the lamp. The reflector 13 may be held by a coil spring 14 against a split ring 15 in a groove in a mount 12 screwing into the end of the tube 7 and clamped by a cap 18, this mount having a square hole 19 to enable it to be turned by a key. The lenses and the colour filter may be contained in a tube 21 inserted in the outer end of the tube 7 and held by a split ring 23, the lenses 27, 27<1> being urged apart against a split ring 30 and an annular projection 28 by a coil spring 29 and the lenses 33, 33<1> and the colour filter 32 being mounted similarly. An adjustable cap 26 on the tube 21 prevents dazzle. A mask with an aperture of appropriate shape may be mounted in the tube 21. The spherical body may be made in two parts 1<1>, 1<11>, Fig. 6, the upper part being provided with tenons 36 mounted on leaf springs 35 depressible by push buttons 38 to allow the tenons to be sprung into holes 37 of the lower part. The two parts may be locked by screws 40 engaging in tapped holes in the tenons 36.
