Abstract

599,167. Crank axle brackets. PARKER, W. Sept. 14, 1945, Nos. 23725 and 26647. [Class 136 (iii)] An auxiliary crank axle bracket for a cycle is detachably secured to the normal crank axle bracket of a cycle frame. A tubular housing 4 is internally screw threaded at 5 to secure the crank axle and bearings and may be reduced in diameter in the middle 6 to fit in between the frame suuports 7 and 8. The housing 4 is attached to the usual crank axle bracket 9 by means of eye plates 10 the eye 11 of which is clamped against the end of bracket 9 by means of plugs 12. The housing 4 may be secured to supports 7 and 8 by means of lugs, links or the like and clips on the supports and it may be adjustably mounted for raising and lowering the height of the crank axle.
