Abstract

597,976. Spindle apparatus. TWEEDALES & SMALLEY (1920), Ltd., ETHERINGTON, S., and ETHERINGTON, F. Oct. 12, 1945, No. 26701. [Class 120 (ii)] A holding-down device for a spindle of a textile ring spinning or doubling frame consists of a spring D that is mainly contained in the spindle wharve B and is formed or provided with a projection F to interlock with an annular groove G extending around the interior of the wharve B. A portion H of the spring D preferably projects below the wharve so that pressure thereon will release the spindle. According to the Provisional Specification a spring-actuated member may be used instead of the spring and the annular groove may be formed in the lower part of the spindle.
