596,423. Wall plugs. HARRAWAY, L. G. June 26, 1945, No. 11259/46. Divided out of Complete Specification of 576,813. [Class 89 (i)] Relates to wall and road plugs of the kind having an inner member 1 with an enlarged head 3 provided with a chamfered surface 5 and an outer member 6 that is forced over this surface and expanded thereby and consists in reducing the diameter at the junction of the head 3 and shank 2 to form a neck 10. The head may be square or hexagonal, or square with rounded corners and the underside is flat to engage the bottom of the hole. The sleeve 6 is sawcut &c. at 9 to form fingers 11. Instead of, or in addition to, the sawcuts, the sleeve may be serrated. The shank is tapped to serve for the attachment of articles and if desired to permit the use of a bolt for forcing the sleeve 6 over the surface 5.
