Abstract
596,327. Heating liquids by electricity. JAILLET, G. C. April 20, 1945, No. 9949. Convention date, Feb. 16, 1944. [Class 39 (iii)] A feeding bottle 11 is heated by a resistance element 5 arranged between double in sulating walls 3, 4 of asbestos, felt or the like, of a container having a cap 6 and a releasable bottleretaining flange 7. The walls may comprise a succession of layers, arranged from the inside out, of light fabric or felt, asbestos (next. the resistance), thick felt and heat-insulating material such as glass wool or cork dust. Rubber-headed rivets may be used to hold and retain these layers. A fusible plug breaks the circuit when a predetermined temperature is reached, and an electric bulb or like alarm device may be included in a shunt circuit together with a temperature-responsive mercury switch. Apertures may be provided in the walls for observing a thermometer 8 and the level of milk in the bottle 11.
