Abstract
595,573. Current supplying stands for electric irons. ROSENBERG, A. July 6, 1945, No. 17291. [Class 39 (iii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] A pair of spring contacts 14 engage with complementary pins 15 at the rear of a pressing iron when the handle 16 is depressed towards the rear to rock the iron about a fulcrum formed by a rib 7 in the base 1. The iron is de-energized by rocking forward into a level position with the tip of the sole plate supported by a rib 9, the rib 7 being placed slightly behind the centre of gravity of the iron so that it remains in this position. In the energized position the iron is held by the pressure of the spring contacts 14 on the pins 15. A rib 8 may be provided to support the iron if pressed too far into engagement with the contacts 14,
