[Class 100 (ii)] [Also in Groups XV and XX] A marking device for use with a lens-testing instrument (see Group XX) comprises as, shown a support m slidably mounted on the instrument body a by fixed pins n in seats o to which is pivoted at r a link p to the other end of which is pivoted a link t carrying three marking styles u and also pivoted to a longer bell crank link q, pivoted at s to the support m. A pin w extends through a slot in the link q and through a slot x in.the support m so that, on moving the pin to the right, the styles u are rocked into engagement with an inking pad y. Further movement of the pin to the left rocks the links upwardly and, on engagement of the pin with the end of the slot x, the support moves so that the styles engage the lens surface to be marked. Premature sliding of the support is prevented by a blade spring z.
