594,191. Internal expanding brakes. HUNT, J. B. July 28, 1945, No. 16463. [Class 103 (i] Brake shoes 23 are expanded by toggles 24, 26 connected to both pairs of adjacent ends of the shoes and operated each by a hydraulic cylinder 33 with a plunger connected to the toggle joint 28, 29. The shoes are guided by fixed pins 20. According to the Provisional Specification the toggles may be operated by cranks or eccentrics, interconnected by linkage or the shoe ends may be separated by cams.
