Abstract
593,844. Filters. BOMFORD, D. R. June 14, 1945, Nos. 15081 and 16462. [Class 46] Apparatus employed on the overhead irrigation of soil or the spraying of plants or crops comprises a floating filter through which water is drawn from a pond or other natural source by a pump, the filter being maintained at a level at which the water is comparatively free from scum, silt or other dirt. As shown, a box b, the upper surface of which is formed from a sheet b<SP>1</SP> of wire gauze, has a pipe b<SP>2</SP> connected by a flexible pipe E to a pump C. The box is maintained below the level of the water in a pond A by means of floats g connected to the box by rods h. The pump C delivers filtered water through a pipe F to spray pipes D. Dirt collecting on the screen bl is removed by a brush or scraper.
