Abstract

592,597. Panel walls and partitions. HITCHINS, W. G. Feb. 15, 1946, No. 1615/45. (Class 20(iv)] A wall comprises panels of height slightly less than that of the room, which are lifted into the groove between frieze members 5 and 6 until they are clear of the skirting members 1, 2 and are then dropped into the groove between these skirting members until they rest on horizontal members 3, their tops being still retained between the frieze members. Transverse stiffening diaphragms 4 are secured between the side walls of the skirting and the frieze is provided with upper and lower horizontal members 7, 8, the lower one of which is above the bottoms of the side parts.
