[Class 80 (iv)] [Also in Group VI] A vibratory apparatus for therapeutic purposes comprises a resiliently supported casing 10, a dynamically unbalanced and longitudinally balanced rotor member 23 mounted therein, and having flanges 70, 71, driving means 28 for the rotor member, and means to vary the unbalanced condition of the rotor member. As shown in Figs. 8 and 9, weights 48, 49 slide in slots on the flange 71 and are adjustable with respect to the axis of rotation of the rotor member by a rack and pinion mechanism 46, 47. The member 55 outside the casing is pressed inwardly to engage the pinion with the rack, and then rotated to effect the adjustment.
