[Class 120 (i)] In a flat carding engine the flats A, carried by an endless chain B, are supported on the return movement by the narrow bearing edges of long slides D, instead of the usual bowls or rollers. The slides are curved concentrically with the carding cylinder C, and are supported on each side of the cylinder by adjustable arm brackets E.
