Abstract

[Class 78(ii) ] [Also in Group XXXVI] A hand tool for drawing electric cables through conduits comprises a disc 1, Fig. 1, with a number of radial open-ended slots 3 for accommodating the cables, the slots being closed by a band encircling the disc. The outside edge of the disc has a groove for a resilient split ring 4, the ends of the ring being secured by a hooked link 5. Alternatively, the split ring 4 may be replaced by a strap and buckle or canvas or adhesive tape. The ring 4, after disengagement of link 5, is still retained within the disc groove, and one or more cables may then be laid successively in each slot through the gap between the ends of the ring, which is rotated as required. The disc has a central aperture 9 for attachment to a holder. Fig. 3 shows a disc with alternate deep and shallow slots to accommodate a large number of cables.
