[Class 44] [Also in Group XXXVI] A cord grip for electric appliances comprises, two insulating plates 10, 11 of disc-shape having eccentric holes 12, 13 so that rotation of one of the discs results in the gripping of a cable passed through the holes therein, interlocking teeth 14 on each disc preventing further rotation when the discs are brought together, Each disc may have a separate hole for each core of a multi-core cable and more than two discs may be employed, each one engaging teeth on its neighbour. The teeth may be formed on the outer periphery of the discs and engage similar teeth formed on the enclosure for the discs.
