[Class 46] [Also in Groups XXIII and XXV] Relates to plate type filter presses &c. in which a clamping screw threaded through a fixed head or end frame bears against a follower between which and a fixed head the plates are clamped, and consists in forming the nut as a bush that can be removed from the head after unscrewing to release the clamping effect so that complete withdrawal can be made without further unscrewing. The nut 5 is mounted by projections 5<SP>1</SP> in a bush 6 clamped in the head and the end of the bush is slotted at 8<SP>1</SP> to permit withdrawal of the nut after the manner of a bayonet joint. A screw 9 limits the rotation of the nut in the bush.
