[Class 141] A double collar or cuff is provided with a stiffening means to cause it to fold along alternative, predetermined, spaced fold lines. As shown in Fig. 1, the stiffening means A, A<1>, K, K<1>, which may consist of impregnated or otherwise stiffened interlinings, are adapted to allow the cuff to be folded along the line CC<1>, the portion B being on either the outside or the inside, or along the line DD', the portion B in this case lying on the outside. In a modification, the parts of the stiffener are hinged together. As shown in Fig. 4, the stiffening means K, K<1> may.be inserted into alternative slots M, M', or N, N', to give folds along the lines D, D<1>, or C, C', respectively. Link holes are provided in the form of slits F, F<1> in the part B and alternative holes G, G<1>, H, H' joined by curved parts E, E<1>, in the part L, as shown in Fig. 1. This enables the change of fold to be made without removing the links. An alternative form is shown in Fig. 4 wherein the holes G, G', H, H' are keyhole-shaped to allow the links to pass. from one pair to the other without disengaging them from the slots FF<1>. The stiffeners K, K<1> may be provided with projections X, X' to engage the links. Fig. 5 shows the stiffening means A<1>K<1>, AK consisting of two prongs of different length, applied to a soft collar. These are inserted in pockets M<1>, M so that the bend in each lies either on the line C'C or on the line D'D according as to whether the shorter or longer limbs are inserted. In a modification of this construction, the alternative fold lines are obtained by insertion of the same limbs into pockets of different depths. The limbs may be provided with one or more notches Z, Z' to co-operate with the mouths of the pockets or with loops, etc., on the collar.
