Abstract

588,722. Television. PHILCO RADIO & TELEVISION CORPORATION. Oct. 30, 1944, No. 21132. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1943. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (iii)] The picture tube 6 of a television receiving apparatus is mounted in a housing 14 pivoted on an horizontal axis 16 in a frame 9 so as to be accommodated in an approximately vertical position in a narrow cabinet 1 when not in use, and the frame 9 is pivoted about a vertical axis 10, 11 so that the tube may be rotated to different viewing positions. Stops 18 limit the movement of the tube unit. A panel 19 hinged to the bottom of the frame 9 fills the opening in the cabinet in its closed position and when opened the picture tube unit into viewing position by means of the lost-motion connection indicated in which stud-like projections 21 under the housing 14 have their heads sliding in slotted tracks 20.
