546,094. Television receivers. FARNSWORTH TELEVISION & RADIO CORPORATION. Feb. 13, 1941, No. 1981. Convention date, Oct. 29, 1940. [Class 40 (iii)] A television receiver adapted for neutral or colour reproductions comprises a picture-reproducing device 5 mounted on an horizontal axis 11 so as to be capable of occupying a horizontal position (dotted lines) or a vertical position (full lines), a colour filter 4 disposed between the picture-reproducing device and a front window 8 enabling colour pictures to be viewed when the picture-reproducing device is horizontal, a mirror 7 inside a hinged lid 2 enabling neutral pictures to be viewed when the picture-reproducing device is turned upright and the lid tilted up to about 45 degrees as shown, and means interconnecting the lid and the picture-reproducing device so that the lid is opened and closed simultaneously with the turning of the picturereproducing device to its corresponding positions. A reversing switch is also provided for automatically reversing the electron deflecting means when the picture-reproducing device is moved from one position to the other to ensure the picture being seen in the upright position in both cases.
