Abstract
587,710. Electrical musical instruments. COMPTON ORGAN CO., Ltd., J., and BOURN, L. E. A. Jan. 8, 1945, No. 652. [Class 88 (ii)] In an electrical musical instrument having a plurality of tone generators and in which generators can be employed to provide partials of different notes, the harmonic content is made large at the bottom end of the scale, decreasing towards the middle and, if desired, again increasing towards the upper end. Where the generators cover eight octaves, the first two and a half octaves might have an odd harmonic development such as a Bourdon tone, the next three octaves have their harmonics reduced to give a Concert Flute or Tibia tone and the upper notes are as highly developed as possible. With this arrangement a pure tone would be available for normal playing and more brilliance is obtained by coupling higher octaves. Pedal keys employ the rich development of the lower frequencies. Specifications 388,036, 403,444, 433,050 and 453,846 are referred to.
