Abstract

587,186. Injection-moulding. VEIT, J.. and KENURE, J. F. Oct. 6, 1944, No. 19185. [Class 87 (ii)] Batches of differently-coloured plastic materials are fed simultaneously, each by a separate injection means, into a common mould, where the materials lie side by side with the differently-coloured parts merging integrally into one another to form an article having a surface of variegated colour. Thus, four plungers 5-8 are simultaneously operated to feed material from four cylinders 1-4 into a mould 18. The four hoppers 12-15 are staggered. The plungers may be moved by a hand lever 11, or by screw means or by hydraulic means.
