Abstract
586,524. Luminescent screens. CINEMA - TELEVISION, Ltd., and HEAD, R. B. June 15, 1944, No. 11463. [Class 39 (i)] In manufacturing a luminescent.screen a layer of binder is deposited on a support from a gaseous suspension and subsequently is combined with the luminescent material. The presence of liquid at any stage of the manufacture is practically avoided. The luminescent material may be sprayed or poured on to the layer of binder. The gaseous suspension may be produced by evaporation of the binder and it may be deposited by electrostatic precipitation. A suitable binder is phosphoric acid or a salt thereof. Specification 580,063 is referred to.
