Abstract

586,485. Cattle-sheds. GASCOIGNE, G. H., and GASCOIGNES (READING), Ltd. July 31, 1944, No. 14588. [Class 20 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] A mobile shed is of trapezoidal shape in plan view. Cattle sheds so formed may be interconnected, thereby constituting a train which may be formed into an enclosure, e.g., for milking purposes. A milking apparatus 4, Fig. 1 which may be powered or drawn by a motor car or tractor, is connected by hinged joints 7 to trailer sheds 19 the sheds having doors 10 opening outwards in their slant walls. The sheds may have a central platform 9 over the axle, dividing the shed into two stalls, and providing cupboard space 8 for storage purposes. The sheds may be mounted on their axles by screw gear 12, 13, Fig. 4, so that the sheds may be lowered on to the ground when in required position. The sheds may be provided with single or double leaf extensions such as 17, Fig. 6 hinged to the upper edge of their longer sides so that a shelter may be provided over the enclosure formed by the train of trailers. The trailer doors may be controlled by a bar 11 from the enclosure, so 'that cows may be released after being milked.
