[Class 5 (ii)] An incubator 45 is mounted within a brooder 41 and the communicating door 59 between the two may be completely removed. A heating chamber 39 is situated beneath the incubator, the discharge passage 28 passing beneath the brooder and between floors 25, 27. Air entering by the pivoted doorway 76, becomes heated before entering the incubator through pipes 62. It leaves by vents 53, 55. The doorway 76 may be partly opened by lifting the hinged panel 82, the opening so formed being covered by gauze 81, or the complete door may be hinged down about its lower edge. The panel 82 may then be allowed to fall to assist in forming a runway.
