Abstract

586,231. Garden frames. WALTON, F. April 17, 1944, No. 7018. [Class 20 (i)] A garden frame or cloche comprises two L- or T-section end frames 4 secured together by spacing rods 8 which are held in notches in the frame by nuts 9 and retain the glass 6 on the flanges 4, 5 of the frames, and catches 13 holding the glass in closed position, the ends of the cloche being closed by glass &c. The height of the cloche may be increased by standing it on a base having glass &c. walls. At least two catches 13 are provided of different lengths to permit of the roof being lowered to give access to the plants. The frame may be lengthened by the addition of further sections comprising frames 4, glass 6 and rods 8. The ends of the cloche may be closed by a sheet of glass supported against the end frames or by a glass sheet 15 supported by a rod 8a in a metal frame 16 fitting within an end frame 4 and having feet 17.
