Abstract

584,560. Hand-irons. DEHN, F. B. (Silex Co.). Dec. 28, 1944, No. 25989. [Class 138 (ii)] A steaming iron has steam grooves 14 in its ironing face terminating at an aperture 10 to which steam is supplied by way of a bore in a securing screw 12. A screw plug 15 closing the outer end of the aperture has a flange 16 which overlies the inner ends of the grooves to form jet openings at 20 where the inner ends of the grooves are turned inwardly to clear the inner end of the plug. These jet openings direct the steam along the grooves. A well 17 in the plug receives condensate and sediment.
