Abstract

584,005. Poultice pouches; external remedies. SCHWAB, F. Jan. 3, 1944, No. 30. [Classes 81 (i) and 81 (ii)] In a poultice pouch made of double fabric and divided into separate cells 2, each cell is further subdivided by a partition 4 into two compartments containing different therapeutic materials 1 and 1', so as to give different curative effects when the pouch is reversed. The outer cover may be of permeable material, and the partition 4 of waterproof impregnated fabric. In a modification, Figs. 7 and 8 (not shown) a wider division between the cells allows the pouch to be folded back on itself. The cells may contain mixtures of sulphur, sodium carbonate, and silicon carbide in varying portions, and sodium sulphate may also be included.
