[Class 44] [Also in Groups XX and XXIII] A clamping device for use in a drawing office comprises a suction cup a adapted to adhere to the surface of the drawing or the like and from which projects a threaded stem b which passes through a pressure arm c formed with a downturned nose f to engage the flexible drawing strip h, the pressure arm c being urged by a spring m towards the suction cup a. The spring pressure is adjusted by means of a knurled nut n and a friction pad j is positioned as shown to prevent rotary motion of the arm c about the suction cup a. In a modification, two or more suction cups may be mounted on a common supporting plate from the centre of which the threaded stem projects.
