Abstract

582,894. Bricklayers' lines &c. COLLEY, A. H. Feb. 8, 1944, No. 2298. [Class 20 (ii)] Walls erected by a bricklaying operation have their verticality and correctness of angle at corners secured by erecting vertical guide-rods adjacent the wall site and at a predetermined distance therefrom, horizontal templates being secured to the guide rods at successive points as erection proceeds. Levelling lines or rods may be provided between the templates on adjacent guide-rods to ensure straightness of line of the wall faces. The vertical guide-rods 7, Fig. 1, are each carried at the forward ends of platforms 3 which are mounted on prepared bases 1 located adjacent the wall site, the feet 9 of the platform being adjustable, or the guide-rod being adjustably connected to the platform so that true verticality of the guiderod may be ensured. The platform is prevented from movement relatively to the base 1. The vertical guide-rods 7 may be of angle section, provided with holes in the flanges with which headed pins 15, Fig. 3 on brackets 14 carrying templates 10 may engage. The templates may be of various shapes and assembled in different ways to give various angles for corners.
