582,338. Preventing incrustation. GUSH, A. S., and MALAN, H. L. March 3, 1944, No. 4006. [Class 123 (i)] A feed water conduit C is provided with a section A of an electrolytic cell consisting of an annular ring 1 interposed between flanges 2 of members 4 having an insulating lining 7 of rubber, vulcanite, or synthetic resin, two further sections B being interposed between the members 4 and conduit C. The positive side of a battery 6 is connected to ring 1, and the negative to sections B and to earth, so that the cell has a single anode and two cathodes. The battery connections may be reversed.
