Abstract
582,322. Fluid-pressure servomotors. TODD, K. W., and METROPOLITAN. VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. May 28, 1940, Nos. 9378 and 13966. [Class 135] In a jet type controller for a fluid-pressure servomotor the transmitting nozzle and the receiving orifice are arranged so that their axes subtend with respect to each other an angle of at least 5 degrees from coaxial alignment, the axis of the transmitting nozzle intersecting the axis of the receiving orifice relatively close to the latter. To prevent or minimise Riemann line phenomenon the transmitter nozzle is made convergent-divergent and one or more wires or a wire grid is arranged across the surface of the receiving orifice.
